The Room Where it Happens: David and Katie Pickler's New Year's Letter

As we anticipate the dawn of a new year, we believe it is both appropriate and meaningful to reflect on where we have been on our respective journeys. This season offers a remarkable opportunity to pause and recognize the countless blessings bestowed upon each of us. After nearly 42 years of serving as your Advisor and Advocate, I, David Pickler—together with my daughter, Katie Pickler—remain profoundly grateful for the honor and privilege you have given us to serve your needs.

The year 2026 will be one of opportunity, challenge, and celebration. As America commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of our Declaration of Independence, it is important to remember that the freedom we enjoy today came at tremendous cost. The 56 signers of the Declaration risked their lives, their liberties, and their sacred honor. They understood fully that, should the Revolution fail, they were signing their own death warrants. Many sacrificed their lives, lost their fortunes, or endured the heartbreak of losing loved ones. Yet each affixed his signature because he believed in the promise of America and was willing to risk everything for the cause of freedom and self-determination. They were truly in the room where it happened on July 4, 1776, and we owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.

Over the past 250 years, our nation has witnessed remarkable acts of patriotism as subsequent generations built upon the foundation laid by our Founding Fathers. They drafted and ratified a Constitution and Bill of Rights so well crafted that only 17 additional amendments have been required since ratification. They established our judicial, executive, and legislative branches and then stepped forward to serve as our earliest judges, justices, presidents, congressmen, and senators. Beyond government service, they developed financial systems and stock exchanges that laid the groundwork for an economic engine powering global capitalism. Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants whose leadership, service, and stewardship made America a cultural, social, and economic leader on the world stage. Not only were they in the room where it happened but they designed it, built it, and set the cornerstone.

As many of you know, I am a passionate patriot with a deep love for America. I remain steadfastly optimistic about our nation’s future and firmly believe the American Dream is still within reach for all of us. Together, we will plan for your success and the fulfillment of your goals. Together, we will develop actionable strategies to empower you to achieve your dreams. Together, we will ensure that you remain in the room where it continues to happen which is the place where we are free to discuss and debate the important issues of our time, where we are encouraged to become the best versions of ourselves, and where we can utilize the financial markets to secure the future for our families.
