International Food&Travel Open House 2010
On May 6th, 2010, Pickler Wealth Advisors and guests experienced a travel event unlike any other without boarding passes, luggage fees or jet lag! The International Food and Travel Open House was unlike any event that PWA has ever done. Several rooms in the firm were converted to different areas of the world such as Europe, Asia, USA, Mexico and Australia. Each area had samplings of food and drink that one might taste when visiting those parts of the world. Travel Leaders partnered with Pickler Wealth Advisors and had a travel agent at each station to provide information and facts about the area and how they might be able to go visit it themselves. Each station was decorated with framed photos, posters, colors of the countries, souvenirs and other festive decor.
Each area has savory samplings of food common in those parts of the world. Europe had appetizer samplings from German and Dutch cheeses to Italian bruschetta to Greek olives and Spanish & Austrian wines, and so much more! Asia consisted of chilled sushi with ginger slices, warm edamame and fortune cookies with a special note inside. USA had Boston and New Orleans staples of New England Clam Chowder and Crawfish Etouffee complete with homemade Yankee cornbread and sourdough bread. Mexico had delicious tamales as well as a salsa bar with guacamole, queso and different kinds of salsas. Lastly, the second part of Europle ended the evening with french pastries and French and Italian roast coffee.
With much of the food being very popular throughout the night, the PWA staff dressing for the part, and a gorgeous night to top it off, the event was the perfect way to get away for a little "vacation"!
