David Pickler Appointed to National School Leadership

David Pickler, Chairman of the Shelby County School Board of Education, has been appointed as Southern Region Director for the National School Boards Association. Pickler joins the NSBA Board of Directors as the first Tennessean to serve in the national leadership in over twenty years. He will also serve in 2009 as President of the Tennessee School Boards Association.

The National School Boards Association represents all 15,000 school boards and over 95,000 school board members nationwide as the premier advocate for public education in America. As a member of the NSBA Board, Pickler will help establish direction for national education policy and legislation. “The opportunity to serve in national educational leadership and represent the interests of Shelby County, the State of Tennessee, and School Board members across America is an incredible honor and challenge”, says Pickler.
